Aurora R11, Crucial Ballistix Max DDR4-4400 won't work
I purchased 2 x 8GB sticks of Crucial Ballistix Max DDR4-4400 from this page. Crucial's 'guaranteed compatible' page!

I remove the original RAM and replaced it with these two sticks and the computer won't boot up. I error the yellow flashing Alien Head error. Which flashes 4 times and then turns the computer off which indicates a memory issues.
After doing more research, I stumbled on a page which states the R11 is only compatible with 2933 to 3200mhz memory? Is this correct? So I won't be able to use Crucial's 'guaranteed compatible' memory?
Any help or pointers appreciated.

RMA. That's what the guarantee is there for.
You can also try clearing CMOS and disabling XMP.
Also, double check the RAM is fully inserted. I thought 4 beeps was no RAM detected but didn't look it up just my recollection.

At the time the R11 was released, it was only validated at 3200. But I believe it is validated for 3400 now.
It's not uncommon for higher speeds to ultimately be supported after launch day, whether unofficially as reported by other users or officially by Dell selling the PC with higher RAM than initially offered.
But I haven't heard of anyone successfully running 4400 RAM.

Users are not allowed to specify the Voltage and FSB of the CPU in bios so DDR 4 4400 is meaningless marketing. In reality the fastest ram is less than 5 percent faster than standard ram. 1080P vs 4k also makes a difference

I agree with the above comments that it isn't supported today in the R11 BIOS. I was able to successfully upgrade to 64gb (16x4) with Crucial Ballistic, the 3200 speed sticks. I did not buy the 3600 speed sticks from Crucial as I have not seen anyone use it with success in the R11 and the stock OEM ram options don't go up to 3600. Honestly, with the lower CLs on the Crucial Ballistic as compared to the OEM ram sticks, I was happy to use the 3200 speed, get more ram and not have to pay Dell inflated prices for theirs. I posted the part number I purchased in another recent thread here. Return the sticks you have to Crucial with that feedback so they can correct their website and just get the 3200 speed sticks and be done with it. Also, I did have to push the sticks in firmly and carefully until it clicked into place so make sure each stick is fully seated and the tabs are locked in place.

That memory requires 1.4 volts to reach those advertised speeds.
Chances are it has multiple XMP profiles, and selecting a different XMP profile might solve your problem.
If all else fails and the R11 bios allows manual parameter selection for memory, you can set the parameters to whatever the officially supported frequency of the R11 is and it should work, at 1.35 volts.
I don't think the R11 supports 1.4 volts for the DDR slots. It definitely does not support DDR4-4400 speeds.
Both R11 and R10 series do not have much options in bios for memory settings. I am used to a lot more settings being accessible than what is accessible in my R10. It's really very basic and designed to be plug and play with items from the VQL. Anything else will be hit and miss.
These machines are basically designed from the ground up not be much upgradable unless you buy Dell (higher priced) items, or do your research work and get (cheaper) third party options.
