Aurora R12, warranty expired

Alienware Aurora R12

Alienware Aurora R12

I bought an Aurora R12 last year and it brought me nothing but stress and anger. i paid 2300$ for a PREMIUM GAMING MACHINE WITH A NEW RTX 3000 CARD so u would think that u would be able to game and enjoy  ur new pc with no issues for atleast the next 5 year huh ? .... well think again today is jan 1st 2023 an  i still havent been able to sit and play a game or use this pc once like its supposed to be everyday i look at it and cry and feel like smashing it . When i first ordered it  there was an issue with the order so after contacting support we came to a agreement that the pc i had ordered will be returned once i receive it and instead i will receive the same pc (same specs and about 50$ difference in the price ) but with liquid cooling instead of the cheap fan because i had realised it comes with a cheap fan and has no heatsink , but somehow the order with the aoi cooling got canceled without my permission after i had already order it .So now im stuck with a pc that has issues . Since that day ive been contacting dell everyday whether its by chat, phone, whatsapp texting, emails only to hear excuses or sometimes they ignore my emails and text ,when i call i keep having to repeat myself and they keep transfering me to wrong departements and the people on the other end of the call are from foreign countries and can never do anything other than transferring me , paid 400+ extra trying to fix it myself (aftermarket coolers, heatsinks or parts from ebay ) but im not good at these things and dont know how to . They just kept ignoring me till my warranty expired and after it did they suddenly respond quickly to remind me im not under warranty . This is unacceptable i just want to enjoy the pc i paid for .This was my first one and i paid more than i should and put my trust in a 'PREMIUM BRAND'  only to be let down BAD.

Just remember fans have a direction of airflow. You want it to push air out of the case, so you have to make sure you mount it in the proper orientation.

It does not just push it, it's mounted. You will have to follow the instructions from the service manual

R12 service manual

There's a process to install these, so I suggest following one of the installation video's on Youtube.

yes, remove the current top fan. The bracket looks ready for mounting. The protective cover needs to be removed. I cannot tell if there is pre-applied thermal paste or not. The radiator mounts to the top of the cage. Watch the TubeVid I posted up-thread.

i appreciate u respondind to all my question i really need help with this , the radiator has 4 screw holes but no screws included but in the videos i see people not removing the top part of the r12 and just screwing the h60 from the front but mine only has screw holes for the top and none for the front ?

When you removed your existing top fan you should have found a bracket that looks something like this

R12 top fan bracket.jpg

Just like your existing top fan that you removed, the new fan/radiator combo will mount in that bracket with the same silicone boogers that were holding in your original top fan.

This is what it will look like from the bottom with the fan mounted (silicone boogers circled in red)

This is what it will look like from the top with the fan mounted. Of course you won't be able to see the top view because you will have a radiator there.

One side of the bracket latches into slots in the chassis and 2 screws secure the assembly in place (just like your original top fan)

The radiator is mounted to the fan and the fan is mounted to the bracket with silicone boogers.

Drop a photo of your bracket.

i just put it in the radiator used the h60 screws to screw the top ,then i screwed back the radiator with 2 screws to the sides , i had alot of trouble and was about to smash it because i lost patience also during the process i dropped screwdrivers on the motherboard and did a couple of thing to other components were i thought i had messed up badly but the pc has been working since with no boot error or nothing like that . The first time booting the pc after the mod it was very loud but it had this smoothness to it , now its still makes noise but sometimes isnt that bad and sounds different , i ran a couple of games with maxed out graphics and cpu goes to like 60 - 70 degrees *C  AND GPU 65-75*C but most of the time even lower and none of them hits 80 but im still worrying i ruined some components do u think im good or no ?
