Aurora R13, Corsair Dominator Platinum 4800 RGB RAM

Question

I have a problem with the RGB RAM lights on my Alienware Aurora R13 desktop. I upgraded my rams to Corsair Dominator Platinum 4800 RGB RAM 32gb (x2 16gb). The rams working fine with no issue but I can't control the lights, they always shows in rainbow color wave. I downloaded the ICUE controller, the ICUE can't detect the rams. Anyone have same issue?

A similar issue was reported by multiple users using same ram on ASUS 600 series motherboard. Your issue may be caused by conflict between rgb controller of Corsair ICUE and Dell AWCC.

You need the option to enable writing to SPD for this to work. I honestly doubt they will add this, since they do not make RGB memory modules yet for the R13.

But if they ever did, they will need to add that option to the system.

I called Dell and Corsair.... the SPD need to be enabled in the BIOS, but the BIOS have no SPD configuration yet, hoping Dell will have BIOS update fixing this issue soon!

They have no RGB modules for the R12 either but iCUE works just fine at controlling the ram RGB. So there's a chance they will at some point have it working

I posted the Aurora R13 tested/validated OEM memory in the FAQ Alienware Desktops- FAQ Aurora R13.

The Corsair memory was never tested/validated by Dell. So I am wondering why do you think that Dell would test/validate the Corsair iCUE software?

Interesting. DDR4 but to my knowledge there's no system that accepts DDR4 that has a clear side window. Only the R13/R14 have the clear side window option.

I think I know why they switched and got away from the HyperX memory. I personally prefer Corsair over HyperX anyways.

As you said R13 and R14 the only clear side panel, but other using R11 have no issue with RGB ram, not sure how they are seeing it but it’s working for them.

RAM support is quite lacking from DELL time and time again ... they promised they have listened and made the system upgradable by users etc... yet they dont support any XMP config on the R13 despite XMP 3 bing highly advertised as a major alderlake benefit ... and seems they dont even bother to provide a clear panel system that supports RAM RGB... they should really use the current situation where many of are resorting to prebuilds to get back trust in their systems not push people away.

I totally agree, the XMP in the bios is useless and not sure why its there, its disabled and can't be activated
