Aurora R13, now has 1000w PSU in build options

Question

So, you can now choose the option to get the 750w psu or the 1000w psu with the R13.  Will this be available for buyers that had only the option for the 750w?

Will this be available for buyers that had only the option for the 750w? My main issue is that I hope they offer this as a standalone purchase for the R13 buyers that didn't get this option.* Nope. The Aurora R13/R14 parts page for the 1000W PSU (43YPM Acbel, R61D8 Liteon, RD0G0 Delta) state 'For sale = No'. This means that the Dell Spare Parts team cannot sell them as a standalone purchase. but as my order entered 'pre production' last night, they are unable to change mine out.* Correct. All you can do is cancel the order through sales and start over.

Thanks for this post! I ordered my R13 in December, still in delay. I called the order modification number to switch to this new 1000w psu but as my order entered 'pre production' last night, they are unable to change mine out. I could cancel and reorder with the new psu but that would push delivery out an extra month or more.

For those of you whose orders have not gone into production yet, you may still be able to change yours by calling the order modification number.

Okay, it’s listed with the more expensive builds. I checked the $2399 build and all it showed was the 750W. The $3299 build has the 1000W option.

Perhaps it’s a leak because I just checked and like speedstep mentioned all I see at the moment is.a 750W option. But that’s good news they are bringing back the 1000W PSU.

I ordered my system in early Feb. still shows 'order confirmed' but not yet 'in production'. Called order modification number and was told that they cannot modify the order to change from the 750W to the 1000W PSU. All they could do would be to cancel the original order and submit a new order. That would put me at the back of the line and would delay my system by at least another month. I’d like to get the larger PSU, but three months or more waiting for the system makes it not doable for me. I hope this PSU will be offered as a stand-alone item at some point. For now I guess I’m going to live with the 750W unit. I do not understand and am not happy with the lack of flexibility to modify a not-yet-built system. Dell should be able to handle these sorts of changes.

It says delivery May 28, 2022 if I order today.

No way I'm giving $3500 to $4500 where I'm charged immediately and then the order is delayed for months. I would be buying a used car for that kind of money not a pc to play games.

A member of another forum was able to call Dell support and they are getting the upgrade for a one time free.  This is from someone that bought the R13 and already has it in house.

Maybe this bigger PSU is prep work for the RTX 4000 series.

They do not have any plans to sell this as a separate part or upgrade. Not sure where they heard this from.
