Aurora R7, how to change my Intel Optane to a NVME?

Hello everyone, I need help, I just bought an Aurora R7 it comes with 16gb intel optane and I'm trying to change my intel optane to a nvme for boot drive, I'm doing this as fresh install,  I tried but I failed, I Set BIOS to UEFI and AHCI, I restarted the machine to boot from USB drive but there is no option for me to pick to boot from a USB, what am I doing wrong.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue, can not boot from a Windows 10 Recovery USB image.  Nothing I do will get the Aurora R7 to recognize and boot from the USB Drive (created using the standard Windows 10 Create Recover Disk wizard).  I called Alienware/Dell and all I got was "this is not supported".  Creating a Recovery Disk is the first thing they tell you to do but how to actually use it to recovery your system is not supported...

Would really appreciate and thoughts or help.

Regards,

Don

I don't play with Optane, but in another thread ... I think some said the trick was to de-activate Optane (all caching, etc.) first. Then, turn in off in BIOS (if option is presented) . Remove Optane module and machine still works with current Windows.

Then ... you can clean-install your M.2/MVMe-SSD.

Remember, this is UEFI. Don't assume all related settings are in Windows or drivers.

I recently purchased the Samsung Evo 970 M.2 NVME and did a step by step installation and setup. There are articles all over but couldn't find a video to support. Hit the link and hope it helps. You definitely have to disable the optane drive in the Intel Rapid Storage software first then remove it. https://youtu.be/qoOIBJYYvGE

I followed these steps to the T.  Same exact setup as yours; installed a 970 Evo Plus and even copied two 16gb USB flash drives, one with Dells OS recovery and one with Windows OS from Microsoft but I can't get past the part where you switch to the Windows USB and select "other".  The camera cuts to something I don't have on my screen.  Help would be much appreciated.  Thanks.
