Memory module kingston hyperx fury 16Go 2933 Mhz Dell price

Hi,

I was looking to buy a memory module for my Alienware Aurora R7 which is equipped with a Kingston Hyperx Fury XMP 16 Go at 2933 Mhz.

Dell support gave me the price : 615$ (533€).

I find this price extremely high compared with the market price. I know that this OEM is dell model but to pay more than twice the price i think this is what we call stealing.

So can you please help me with this ?

Thanks in advance.

There is nothing that can be done unless it is an error.

I think it's better to just "start over" and buy a pair of matched DIMMs (so they run in Dual Channel).

There are many posts about this situation .

Here is a newer thread, but there are many older ones where I explained the issue (and solutions) more thoroughly.

Like, I guess this one:

If that is the G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32GB  Model F4-3000C15D-32GVR (2 x 16GB) then yes it will work.  Avoid the 8GB modules though.  The factory (NOT OEM) HyperX 2933 work as well and is a heck of a lot cheaper than what Dell quoted you.  $372.99 for 2 - 16GB modules vs $615 (for one 16GB?????).  Even if it is $615 for 2, Dell should still be ashamed...                                                            https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Kingston-Technology-32-HX421C14FBK2/dp/B07BJJNMWL?th=1

The HyperX 2666 is almost as fast as the 2933, within 1%, and can occasionally be found on sale for under $300.
