2.8.8.0 Issue

I updated my command center to 2.8.8.0 and now I cannot change the color of my lighting zones. Also, when I boot up i get the a small popup saying, "AlienFX will not monitor events and will only display the Default event on your system. However, AlienFX will display 3rd party lighting effects. To enable events monitoring, click Enable Alienware AlienFX Events." There is no such button. I tried uninstalling and re installing the old command center. Shortly after the lights just went dark entirely. I then updated to 2.8.8.0 again and now the color is static again. What do I do? I'm running windows 7 on an M14x.
