Aliensense Thermal Controller software on Alienware Aurora R2
Hey! First time using the forums. I thought I might go this route before I submit a help ticket to tech support.
I've got an Alienware Aurora R2 that I purchased from MicroCenter, awesome computer, I love it except for one minor problem. Whenever I start it up all of the fans kick in about half speed and then when Windows 7 starts to load the fans kick up to 100%. I've gone into the Thermal Controller software countless times and have had to set it on manual, apply it, then put it back on Auto and apply it to get it to properly regulate fan speed. Problem is, whenever I shut down and start back up it does it all over again.
Usually when I shut down I get a little popup message on the taskbar that says "Thermal Controller shutting down..." and then Windows kicks into its little "A program is failing to shut down" prompt, but it immediately goes away and then the system shuts down like normal.
Is this how its SUPPOSED to act? If not, is there any sort of fix for it? Its a minor annoyance at most, I don't mind to have to reset it every time if I have to but if I don't it would be great to get the issue taken care of. My biggest concern is that the fans aren't operating properly, but I've alt + tabbed out of games to check temps and I've never seen anything get above 43 degrees.
