Alienware 17 restore, no partition, usb or cd available?
Is there a way to restore my Alienware 17 back to factory state if my recover partition is empty, and I do not have a usb or boot cd with this laptop? I had an error come up when I did a recent reset to factory settings, during the alienware respawn program running.
After I booted back up I couldn't update windows, run respawn, and a host of other problems. At this point things have gotten so bad I would just prefer to download a system restore if one is available and reset it right back to factory settings a second time.

Hi,
If the recovery partition is empty, you will need to reinstall Windows. If you don't have the CD, you can download and create the media online. Check for options here:

I get the following message -
Recovery image not available for your Service Tag.
Sorry, but a Dell Hosted Recovery Image is currently not available for the Service Tag that you entered. Please enter another Service Tag or contact Dell Technical Support for further assistance.

Then you can try creating the media in Microsoft's web page.
