Alienware 18, Alien Head and Logo not lit?
Have an Alienware 18 that is still is warranty. Problem is that when I first got it I noticed straight away that the alien head on the lid, and the Alienware logo on the bottom of the screen does not light up. When using the command center you can select them and change the color using the color wheel and displays the change in color on the screen to visually show you which you have selected, but does not actually change the alien head or the logo? I tried to re-install the command center but tells me I need to uninstall the command center first. Problem is that it is not listed in the programs and features to uninstall the program. Does anyone know if this is a hardware fault or a software fault that lies with the command center?

I have ended up doing a factory respawn of the laptop. uninstalled the current command center as stated in the article link, repaired the net framework, installed the latest command center. Also I have run the Alien FX tester and still no Alienware name does not light up nor does the alien head on the lid. The 2 led stripes on the lid do light up, though are a very dim white light, which cannot be changed to a different color. Also I have upgraded to the latest bios firmware also. Is my Alienware 18 faulty?

It's just a matter of replacing the faulty lights. Send me a private message with your Service Tag, contact information and link to this thread.
