Alienware Aurora ALX Chipset Fan is making noise

My chipset fan is making a lot of noise. But it looks like it is still working, because the temperature is ok.

My plan is to get a new fan, but i don't know where i can order one that will match.

Does anyone know where i can buy one?

Bartal

The better forum to post this in, is the Alienware Owners Club HERE.

Tesla1856,

Does the AW prompt with any messages if they use those 3rd party fans?

No. Often, they are the same part.

What is the part number and what does it say exactly on the (bad) factory original?

I haven't ordered an AW fan from them, but the Dimension and OptiPlex fans I ordered worked perfectly (wired special Dell way, thermo sensor, correct RPM, etc.)

Used RJN3m http://bit.ly/JHfd0p

Or you can call Dell Spare Parts 1-800-357-3355 and ask for the part number for prices and availability.

I get my (special or non-standard) Dell fans here:

www.cwc-group.com/casefan.html

Just make sure the new one is a proper replacement for the bad one.

RJN3M Flextronics 12v Memory Fan. Shipped in the Alienware Aurora-R1/2/3/4. I found several on ebay. It's hard to see any writing on the fan in the picture below from Bartal.

Is it noise or just running high speed?  The latest Alienware software update made mine run at high speed so I went back to an earlier version of the software.  Problem solved.
