Alienware Tech Support Issues

I ordered my alienware on August the 25th I believe, I received it on September 10th I believe. Since I had my computer I have had literally nothing but problems with it. The computer BSOD every 1-2 hours, the graphics cards are all malfunctioning, and the processor isn't the one I purchased nor is the ram good. Each one of my RAM sticks are running at 800mhz, which is like 2001 school computer ram. It troubles me very much to have paid $2600 on a Gaming computer to not be able to use it properly. I am in the music industry, as well as an avid gamer. It's just not right, I have phoned the Dell tech support 12 times and everyone said they will get back to me via email, I got 1 email from them and that's it. All of them saying they will have a tech come to my home and repair my computer and give me the parts that were originally ordered.

Current Parts: Intel i7 3820k Overclocked to 3.8Ghz

ATI Radeon HD 7870 2GB x2 (BOTH MALFUNCTIONING)

1TB 7200 RPM HDD

16GB DDR3 Ram (Running at 800Mhz)

Parts the Tech said he would give me:

Intel i7 3920k Six Core Processor Overclocked to 3.9Ghz

2x Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 1.5GB

2x 500GB Solid State Hybrid

16GB DDR3 Ram ( Running at 1600Mhz)

I have been waiting for months to get this fixed and I am absolutely furious I don't know who to talk to, and I cannot return this computer as the 30 day return policy is long over-due.

When you guy's say your going to send out a tech to fix my computer free of charge, I actually expect it within 2 weeks, not 2 months.

If anyone from Alienware could help me with this situation that would help me gratefully. Thanks.

If you write something on Twitter at @DellCares  you'll get a response.

Try it..

I personally don't want to deal with Alienware anymore, I have purchased an m18x from them too which malfunctioned, and I got my money back so I purchased this. Now this one is completely destroyed. I want a full refund from them and send this computer back. I could do so much better with a custom built one. Thing is I was told they would phone me the next day to arrange the tech to come out, but they never phoned and it's been about 4 weeks. I have emailed, phoned, and just about done everything I possibly can. If you guy's can give me some more information on how to get refund me that would help me out amazingly.

Thanks - Lebby

I Believe the Alienware warranty is (Next Business Day on-site) (at least mine is), if they haven't lived up to that I would be asking for either a complete refund (If you simply don't want to deal with them anymore), or a tech out next business day with the warranty cost refunded or extended out to replace from when the first business day would have been till they fix it.

on a side note I have had a tech out here and it was next business day so it sounds like you got unlucky, but if they promise and don't deliver you deserve compensation.

Thanks for replying Z, I messaged @DellCares on twitter and linked them to this so they can get a better story of what happened, and hopefully it can be fixed from then on.

Thanks Z, I am thinking of getting a full refund, the computer is still brand new just it's a malfunctioned one. I'm not sure how it got through the testing stages. The x2 Graphics cards didn't even come with a crossfire bridge, nor where they screwed into the computer.. That's kind of ridiculous don't you think?

Yes, sounds like it wasn't given a good golng over  and sloppy inside work.  It happens, it shouldn't.

I got a new R4 and had some booting problems out of the box, but I got that straightened out.

Just keep in mind if you want an exchange you might be a refurb one.  Not saying you will, just you may.. You can ask, if it's an exchange you want or maybe it's just the refund?

Now it's definetely just a refund, I feel like an idiot for buying dell products. I've had previous Dell computers and now I see all of them broke.

I have gone through 4 or 5 systems since 2004.   I usually just wear them out.

Well, I spoke with the DellCares people, and they refuse to send me the parts, or give me a refund. It's due to them not having the information.. Which is very very aggravating.

If you have a case number it's OK to post that on Twitter.. Give it to them and let them read the case file.

I gave them the service tag and stuff but the guy I was talking to never gave me a case number, nor did he give me anything about a quote number. They need the quote number to be able to do anything further on. Which is very very worrying. Considering I spent $2600 on the computer for my son. Now it's just not working to what we were promised.
