Alienware X51 Endless beeping and black screen
Hi all. So I bought a new x51 last year and have been using it really well. I was working in a project one night and decided to continue it next morning so I decided to put the computer to sleep mode. Weirdly, after a few seconds it started to wake itself up and repeated this everytime I set it to sleep mode. I searched on google and a search came up on the dell support website that the solution was to update to BIOS A06. My system was on a01 and I followed the steps to update it to a06. I saved my work and restarted the computer, only to find that when the computer booted up, it started to make a static beeping noise that had no pattern to it. After researching for a solution and explanation I realized that updating the bios was the worst thing to do to your machine and that this 'issue' was quite a rare problem and was usually ended off on a technician coming over and replacing the motherboard. No replies continued after that. Sad thing is, my warranty just ended 2-3 months ago and they are telling me to extend the warranty when clearly it was not my fault. Can someone find me a solution to this problem?

Have you tried clearing the CMOS?
Take a look at this article, it might help you.

If you cleared the CMOS with both the jumper and removing the battery with no luck then you most likely need a new mobo. But just incase you haven't tried it yet..power down, unplug the system, open the case and clear the CMOS with the jumper. Pull coin battery and even hold the power button down for a good 30sec.
If that doesn't work then I would ask Dell - Porras nicely :) in a PM if he could possibly send a replacement board since it was a failed BIOS update that did it. If he does and you get it working don't ever update it again unless instructed to by Dell.

I have tried clearing the CMOS by leaving the battery disconnected for about 2 days but it still does the same no pattern static beep and always has the sleep mode light on the power button. The side lights function aswell. However anything connected to the computer recieves no power and does not respond to anything e.g. Keyboard, Mouse Etc. Have no idea how to fix this...

Well, I sent a FR containing a message for Porras and I have not received a reply yet. I phoned dell today and what they said was to extend the warranty or take it to a local shop to repair. I've told them about the BIOS thing but they just shrugged it off and continued to ask me to extend the warranty. This is pretty absurd as this problem was caused by Dell themselves considering that I downloaded the update from www.Dell.com.sg . I hope someone looks into this case and gives me a hand at this.
