Area 51-R1, Replacing PSU with a 3rd party PSU?

I have a "classic" Area 51 (not the triangle one, the one before) and I'm pretty sure the PSU is the cause of a few problems.

I've replaced all the original hardware but not the PSU due to that OEM wiring hardness the Dell PSU uses. But I've been having issues with my PC randomly losing power during games and booting up with a "PSU error", so I think the stock PSU needs to go.

From what I've read on these forums, while you can certainly install a new PSU by simply ripping out the stock Dell wiring harness, the issue is the 10 pin connector the MIO uses, as PSU don't come with this connector. I've also been reading information about piggy-backing off the replacement PSU's cable to provide the stock 10 pin connector with the power it needs. The only thing is that the posts about this are incredibly long and filled with a lot of theory on the process. I wasn't able to find anything like a simple, clear step-by-step guide to making a replacement cable. When I read these posts, I end up coming out more confused then before I started!

I've found someone on eBay who sells a pre-made cable, but he doesn't ship to Japan and I can't send him a message either, so I'm out of luck there. Any advice, guys?

I cannot speak to a 3rd party PSU. But have you considered just replacing the PSU with another one of ours?

I kinda want to replace the PSU with one from a well-respected PSU manufacturer. Dell isn't exactly famous for it's PSUs. And this isn't the first time I've had issues with this PSU.
