Aurora graphics card upgrade?

What driver are you trying to install and did you do a driver clean to remove all the ATI stuff?

I cant do it, its a 3 slot card, there is no space.

It's hard to tell but it looks like it's wired right from the pic. I don't think you could wire it wrong with it being dual 8-pins..but had to make sure.

Take out that sound card in the bottom and try to move the GPU down one notch. Looks like you can do that and that will rule out the PCIe slot.

With big cards like that one they tend to want to bend downwards when you install them because of their weight. Make sure when you put it back in that it is level,hold it up some with your hand if you need to and then screw it in to hold it in place. If the card is hanging down some it could prevent some of the pins from making a proper contact.

That Asus driver is the only one you want to use.

Still take it out and put it back in. Take out that sound card too and this time hold the card up with your hand when you screw it in. Just trust me on this. Or lay the case down flat so you know for sure the card is straight.

I couldnt install the dell driver, it said no compatible hardware found or someting like that, and the asus driver u posted is the same as the one that came withe the disc, I still tried it and didnt work.

Your problem is probably drivers. Try to Driver Sweep the machine at then load the Asus drivers. You could also try to under-clock the card back a bit to the normal GPU and RAM speeds for a normal 580.

How did you re-install Windows? Was it a clean install? Did you load the X-58 chipset drivers before any others?

When I took the card to the store to test it, they installed the drivers from the disc and it worked, they didnt even remove the previous drivers, I dont think its the drivers, its my motherboard or the psu. I just wish I knew exactly what the problem is.

I was wondering about this also...

With not only 2 slot mounts, but three ... if the MB isn't aligned just right with the case ... it might be pushing the card into an un-natural position keeping one of the slot's pins from making good contact with the card. It would only take 1 out of 82 pins.

I think its either the psu or the motherboard, I should take to a store to test it, if its the motherboard which one will fit into the alienware case?

Yes, (like Morblore says) that card is special, so use the special Asus driver (it's likely tweaked a bit).
