Can't update graphics driver GTX 765m 14

Hello,

When I try to install new 320.49 nVidia driver's for GeForce GTX 765m the installer says "graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" and quits on my new Alienware 14.

How can I update the graphic card drivers?

Hello AdamG8GXP,

Please help me understand the following details:

  • From where are you trying to install the latest drivers for nVidia GeForce CTX 765m?
  • What is the Operating System installed?
  • Do you see any yellow exclamation on the video card in Device Manager?
  • Were there any recent hardware or software changes?

Please write back with the details, I'd be glad to assist you further.

1. My office.

I downloaded drivers from nVidia site and they will not install. The installer quits and says "graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware".

2. Windows 8 64bit

AdamG8GXP,

I do not think that the retail drivers are validated on our Dell OEM (original equipment manufacturer) GeForce GTX765m video card. For now, stick with our Dell certified 9.18.13.1148 A00 driver. As a test, when you go here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers

What happens when you run the Auto-Detect Your GPU? Does it even identify our OEM GPU?

Hi!

You can find the Dell verified driver here. I recommend you do a clean installation of the driver by following the steps on this article.

Let me know how it goes!
