Dell EC GPU sensor reads 99C. Extreme hot.

Here is the picture I took while playing games for 20mins.

I feel my hands are burning while playing games. Is it safe keep using this laptop?

I only had it for a month.

I have the same model and version. Mine only reaches mid 70s in both CPU and GPU max, so something is definitely not right with yours.

I would contact dell support via telephone to get this fixed asap.

use HWmonitor to have better results, more accurate ... and i suggest you to do something that i do ... I made an undervolt... is completely safe and i reduce the heat and increase my battery life ... here are my answer:

look, i solve the problem in a easy way ... just instal BIOS A00 while the A05 come ..

and my new temps while doing a benchmark:

pd: put something in the back of your laptop to let him bread :)

M CPU is good. It's the GPU.

You sure? Have you tried using Nvidia Inspector?

Since you have the 240w PSU, it would be a good idea to flash (install) BIOS A00. It's cooler than A02.

My fans are manually set to max so I think a02 is OK. A00 throttle my CPU to 800mhz. Do I don't want it. Thanks.

My laptop shipped with a00. So I know it throttles even with 240 w. I didn't try nv inspector but I tried msi ab

If undervolting your GPU doesn't help, then I think the thermal paste may have been mis-applied.

Do use Nvidia Inspector. I have found it reliable to do overclocking and over/undervolting.

you can make a re paste .... i suggest you to use IC diamond 7 ... i bought IC Diamond 24 and made a repast for my inspiron 15 today ... it have i7 and gt 750m... and the temperatures slowed dramatically. here are some pics that i take.
