Having sound/volume and lag problem
I posted in the regular laptop section and the stuff there didn't really help and someone recommend that I post here instead but I'll give the link to it instead. There's too much stuff to retype/upload again.

Laptop Type: Alienware M14XR2, Window 7 Ultimate 64, Ram 16GB
I've been lagging really bad since I got it. Like when my browser finished loading I just want to scroll up and down it lag or lag spike. Same with the game I'm playing too. I dont think its the game, even when I exit the game and just continue browse stuff on Chrome and or Firefox by itself, it still lag really bad.
Is there a solution to it? How do I fix it? I just got it on June 20th. Its not even a month old yet. There's 96 different program running at the same time. I'm not sure which thing I can get rid of ( end process).

My laptop ( Laptop Type: Alienware M14XR2, Window 7 Ultimate 64 ) sound/volume just keep stopping/crashing. It was working fine a few minutes ago. It happened a few times. I tried restarting the laptop everytime the sound stop/crash ( for no reason), it worked for like 30min then crashed/stopped again. I didn't touch or do anything with the volume/sound or Sound Blaster Recon3Di. It did make a weird noise like something pop/exploded inside the laptop 1 sec before the sound/volume stop. I don'tbelieve the computer is overheated

Hello. There is a brief return period. If you bought the laptop from Dell you have 21 days from the date on the invoice in which to return your laptop for a refund or replacement. If you miss the return period then you are stuck with having to deal with tech support to get warranty service -- in other words they will try to repair your new laptop. Much better to return it if you are still within the return period.
I urge you to post on the Alienware Owner's Club discussion board of this forum. You will probably receive a sympathetic hearing there.

Hello LauraBora. I saw your post on the Alienware Club. You sort of said that you can't be bothered to explain the problems with your laptop, but here are some links if anybody wants to take the time to look it up. You are saying that your time is more valuable than their time. I'm sure you didn't mean it that way but I'm just saying how it looks.
I also cannot get the link to work that was posted by Andrew. Here is a link to the Alienware M14x R2 downloads page. (Edit -- I was just now able to use Andrew's link, but it just goes to the Product Selection page.)
What I would do is this. Return the laptop back to its original factory configuration by using Alienware Respawn. That will fix all problems in the software or configuration that have occurred since the time you first turned on the laptop. Then immediately test the laptop for problems before downloading any updates from the internet. In other words turn off Windows Automatic Updates and only allow the laptop to download security updates. If you find that the laptop is still lagging and the sound is cutting out during this testing period, then you have a hardware defect and you will need to contact Dell tech support to schedule a repair.
But if restoring the laptop with Respawn fixes the problems, that means that the problems were caused by software changes and might happen again. In that case you need to be careful of the changes you make to the computer.

I did explain the problem, its in the above post. Its somewhat fix for now, I'll have to wait a few hours to see if it go back to that weird sound and that annoying lag spike every 2 second.
