Help!! My Alienware 15 r3 is running so slow!

I just received my Alienware new 15 R3 today, I was so excited and I download Battlefield immediately. I crank up the settings to ultra. But I found out that the fps is around 30 to 60. Sometimes I can even experience a freeze. But when I look at the information online 15 R3 with the same spec ( i7-6700HQ,  GTX 1060, 1TB (64MB Cache) 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s ) the average fps is around 90 , and the minimum is 70. I've tried to switch to the high-performance mode using fn+f7 but it is the same situation. Also, I've installed the latest Nvidia driver but nothing seems to be changed.

The weirdest part is that it  takes about 3 min to fully start this computer. Also, the sound is weird, there is some noise when I watch the video. Even if I plug my earphone in I can hear the same noise too!

I just received this today, is there something that I should do?

Thanks!

I think my driver is the latest version! I change my system to performance mode but still this happened... Not only in Battlefield 1 but also in Divison... Sometimes my fps will drop to 1 or 2. Also, there are lots of information said that my pc should run Bf1(ultra) at avg 90 fps. However, my avg fps is just 40 to 50. Worst of all it'll freeze sometimes... My temp is high I think, cpu1 and cpu2 are around 87 to 90...

Try by installing the latest video driver in our website

Also, try running a CPU stress test using the Support Assist tool to check how high the CPU temperature goes. If you do not have Support Assist installed in your computer, click here for the download link. Follow the steps below to run the stress test.

  • Download and install Dell Support Assist
  • Open Dell Support Assist
  • Click Checkup
  • Click Scan a Specific Device
  • Click System Devices
  • Select the CPU Stress Test and Run it. This Test will load the CPU and Ram to 100% and test it. It will make enough heat to determine if the processor is overheating or not.

Let me know how it goes.
