M17x R3 hdmi out to tv problem

I spent a few hours trying to play around and get it to display, it is running 8.1 which I've heard had problems with the hdmi in. I used a brand new hdmi, but will be trying a second wire just to check. But i tried uninstalling the driver and updating it. But gives me weird options when trying to assign it, shows the 1/2 assign but won't detect it. Then i manually go through and it shows 2 vga connection options. I would greatly appreciate any help
