Try running an ePSA/Diagnostic test on the system, click here to view a Dell article that explains how to run this test. Let me know if you receive any errors.
Also, if you turn on the computer with the adapter connected, the same thing happens?
I've run the diagnostics several times, both with and without the power supply hooked up. No errors detected and graphics and CPU temps are fine. I've cleaned out the fans, which didn't help either. I can't reproduce the effect at will, but it always eventually happens. I do notice that there are two GTX 675Ms listed in Device Manager, and a ton of NVIDIA HD audio devices listed along with my Recon 3Di. I can hear that there is an error, but by that point the screen is black. connecting to an external monitor results in 'no signal', so it's not the LCD panel.
The problem occurs whether or not I start the PC with the power supply attached. It occurs at different times though, and seems to only happen while the power supply is attached. I like to think I am semi-computer savvy, but this makes no sense to me.

Try by updating the video driver here and the BIOS driver here.
Let me know how it goes!
