Struggling to Update M17xR2 AMD Drivers/VBIOS - Please Help

I have been searching all morning and cannot seem to find a consensus on how to do this properly.  Came across Chris' post (quoted below) where I am directed to update to the 8.763 drivers first, then update the VBios.

The driver HAS to be loaded before the Vbios!!

* Load the driver, 8.763-100810a-104118C-Dell A01
Fixes and Enhancements
1. Displays configuration becomes incorrect when Crossfire is disabled
2. A non existent 2nd monitor appears in CCC and Display Manager after resume from S3/S4 with CrossFire disabled
3. Dual 5870 internal LCD gets no display after disable CF and un-plug external monitor
4. System hangs when crossfire is disabled and re-enabled.
5. Driver updates
6. Support for new game titles

* Restart the PC when done
* Load the Vbios 13B96101.104 A01
Fixes and Enhancements
1. Fixes display corruption issues found on some 5870 video cards
2. Fixes issues on battery (BSOD, S3, S4, and black screen) with older VBIOS and 8.7xx drivers

* Restart the PC when done

I first removed all ATI drivers, then ran the 8.763 driver installer, and it completed correctly, but gave me a final pop-up that the ATI drivers were not compatible with my hardware (???).  I rebooted anyway and GPU-Z confirmed I was now running 8.763 (see screenshot below).  Great!

Next, I ran the VBios installer according to Cris' instructions above and recieved the following message, and the installer closed.

I don't understand this since I definitely have the single 5870 card.  Seems I can't update the VBios, which shows in GPU-Z as version 012.019.000.006.036284.  Here's the GPU-Z screen:

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!
