Unlocked lock icon on drive (C:)
Hello everyone,
I need your help in a very weird matter. I have cloned a disk and everything seems fine except the OS (C:) has an unlocked lock icon on it. I have searched everything and everyone point out to a bitlocker tool, however this is not a file that is locked or doesn't work, is the whole C partition.
I also tried to bring to factory reset by using the Repair Computer partition and worked great, everything is ok except the sign is still there.
If anybody really knows what this mean I will really appreciate your input in this matter!
Thank you

Ok, For whoever gets into this problem, this is the solution:
After cloning the drive, go to Control Panel / Uninstall a Program, and uninstall DDPA (Dell Data Protection Plan.
The lock icon will be gone for good.
Geez, it too me two days to figure out that!
Thanks and Danke Schon to everybody for their thoughts!

I forgot to mention that I have cloned a 250 Gb HDD to a 250 Samsung SSD.

Hi.
it looks like the Bitlocker Function is enabled but not configured properly.
Press Win+I, click on "System" and then choose "About", scroll down. you should see a Bitlocker Error and an Option to Disable Bitlocker below the Message. click on the Button and let it work. reboot after the Decryption is done.

Thank you for your reply. The Win + I does nothing, so I don't know where to go? Any other suggestions?
I have searched bitlocker" in search and brings up nothing.

there is no bitlocker whatsoever in the system. Or nothing comes up anyway.

oh.... what i wrote is for Win 10. Win 7 was something like Control Panel > Security > Bitlocker. don't remember exactly what it was. you probably should google how to disable Bitlocker on win 7.
Edit:
Fixed my Post. it should say Control Panel and not System Panel.

i believe the Clone App messed up your File / Folder Sharing Options during Data Transfer. my native Language is German and i don't know how to explain it in English. so better google "windows 7 drive lock file sharing" or wait until someone else explains how to turn off / modify File sharing.

There is nobody here that can provide at least an explanation?
I never seen this problem before, especially when there is no bitlocker involved.
At least to understand what it means...
No tech in here that can share some thoughts?

Hello Tesla,
I am using a Startech cloning device (duplicator) that copies 1:1
It never failed, and all the clones I did with it worked like a charm.
Today I have tried a different cloning machine, different model, brand new, -> same result.
I tried a different Samsung SSD (3 years old 256Gb Evo) -> same result.
So, is something in the computer (either Bios, either soft that will trigger the issue.

Maybe it's just an icon problem?
Yeah, "cloning" doesn't always work, or maybe you missed a step. You don't even say what program you used. Try Macrium Reflect Free (with Verify on).
