What GTX970 to buy for new X51 R3
I just bought a base model X51 R3. I want to get a GTX970 for it. What is the best one to get for this system? I know there are size limitations as well as power limitations. I might go with this one.
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB SC GAMING ACX 2.0, 26% Cooler and 36% Quieter Cooling Graphics Card 04G-P4-2974-KR

After more the a year of ownership,
the EVGA GTX970 SC has worked flawlessly with my R1v.1
Great build quality. Perfect fit and finish for my X51.

I would get this GTX 970. The cooling design of the GPU will work better in the X51 chassis than the EVGA GPU.

Thanks for the advice. EVGA was my go to brand as they have great customer service. I'll check out the PNY card. Only one review on Newegg. Also that Zotac card is $239 and not $219. Not sure if they have a good track record or not. I will look into both. I'm just looking for the best card that will actually fit this chassis and not be overly power hungry.

The EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-1972-KR 4GB SC GAMING, Silent Cooling Graphics Card is not working in my X51 R3. The machine powers off every time I load up a game. The default GTX745 works fine when I launch a game and play. I have a feeling this card is drawing too much power. I guess I need to return it and get a different GTX970. Perhaps one designed for Mini ITX SFF machines. I've found two, a Gigabyte one and an ASUS one.

Well, I think I might know what the issue is now. Dell shipped me the 180W PS instead of the 330W PS that I assumed would come with this system. And I already returned the EVGA GTX970 to Newegg. Gotta buy another card now. Sigh...

I ordered a new 330 watt power supply yesterday. Now I have to try and get my EVGA card shipped back to me from Newegg or take the 15% restocking fee and buy another cheaper card.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a 145 watt or less GTX970?

Currently using the PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 970 OC XLR8 Gaming Edition 4 GB Graphics Card for X51 R3.
Fitting the card does require a some push though because of a slight indent in card cage itself; but other than that its working perfectly without overheating/crashing.
The Geforce Experience application will automatically detect the new hardware once the new card is installed.
