White screen from Nvidia Drivers in Windows 10 on Alienware M17X R3 - no 3D with GTX 660m Nvidia Card in R3 too.
After getting the SSD to work and most of the other drivers in Windows 10 I ran into the NVOC error while starting the GeForce program to update the nvidia GTX 460M graphics drivers for my 3D M17X R3. Not being the Lone Ranger with this problem it was discussed on the Nvidia website and a Beta version of GeForce was recommended. It seemed to fix the problems for a while until they resolved the issue in the next update issued in version 358.50 for Win 10 64Bit. I haven't had the problem since this upgrade. Unfortunately it isn't an option on the Dell Website for the display drivers.
I Also bought the GTX 660M to install in the M17x R3 but I might as well have bought a rope to use the computer as an anchor. It would have been more useful. Regardless of the many people using it in the M17X R3 none of them are using the 3D function. I got the card to work for graphics and PhysX functions only and I had to modify several inf files to do this. The 3D function is just not supported in the chipset on the motherboard. At least not in Sata mode. Has anyone gotten the GTX 660M Nvidia Graphics to work in 3D on the M17X R3 Alienware? If so what was the secret?

Hello,
Unfortunately, according to the policy document, the M17x series will not be supported on Windows 10. Some users have successfully installed Windows 10 on these non-supported systems. But they did all the driver investigation (example = installing 7/8/8.1 drivers) to force it to work. Dell does not have the resources to do this on non-supported systems. I recommend you also try posting this on the Notebook Review and Alienware Arena forums for assistance.
