trouble connecting Xbox One to Alienware 17
Im trying to connect my Xbox one to my alienware but when i plug in the hdmi to the alienware, nothing happens, i tried both input and output on xbox and still nothing happens. can anyone help me with this problem?

Hello IVtez,
There might be three things to look into. You should use the output HDMI port on your Xbox for this to work.
1- Fn key + F9 key (to toggle external HDMI input functionality.)
2- check the HDMI cable type
3- Video card driver (it might be outdated.) Checkout this article on the proper way to re-install the video card driver.

before I try that I have a few questions, I just got my Alienware 17 this past March, is it possible for the video card to still be outdated? And also, my fn +f9 key toggles the screen brightness, oh and when got to setting> devices it shows the Xbox one device but won't let me do anything but remove it

Yes, it's very possible your video card driver is out of date. The key you need is Fn + F8, that's the option for you to extend the display.
The video driver update should get you somewhere.

Hello, I'm trying to do the same thing this morning. Exept, when I connect xbox one to HDMI In to the alienware, I get the video (darkened a little) but there is no audio.. Why? Anyone know?
