mbr and other os in alienwarex51
Hi, i have alienware x51 with uefi and gpt partition. I canconvertmbr?If so, howcan I do?I have tried manyprocedures, butI could not.
I also want to install another version of windows but to boot the DVD does not start, I can only boot the dvd windows 7 home premium that came with the PC. There seems to be a protection to boot. How do I start another dvd that is not the original?

Hi Marco1990,
Yes, you can set the BIOS to legacy and then reinstall Windows onto a clean drive.
It appears that your DVD drive can boot the system, so the problem is with your other OS disc, not the drive. There is no "protection" that would prevent your doing so.

UEFI Bios version 2.x has legacy mode. (Non Secure Boot) There is no conversion.
UEFI 3.0 Bios has No Legacy model and will ONLY BOOT 64 bit windows 8.

I have Windows 7 home premium 64 bit, DVD released in conjunction with the PC starts normally during the boot, only the other dvd other os will not start.

I tried butifI setlegacy modethe PCwill not boot,when the powerthere are so manybeeps andthe PC andthe monitorremains black.
I had to openthe computer andreset theBIOSviahardware torun it again.
