15 R4, update failed, lost FX menu and temperature monitoring [SOLVED]

Hi there

I recently had to reset my PC back to factory settings (recommended by Dell Support) as 'SupportAssist' and 'Alienware Command Centre' were not updating (Alienware CC kept failing, Support Assist was hanging and not finishing update).

Following reset, I've again attempted to update Alienware CC with no luck.  I've tried downloading the latest drivers from Dell.

It says updates are available but says they failed.  I've now lost my ability to adjust my 'FX' and the 'Fusion' menu item no longer shows the temperature, etc, it only shows power options.

At the first launch of Alienware CC, it said that my machine didn't support FX.

Has anyone else experienced these issues with Alienware CC?

I'm going to raise another issue with Dell Support and see how we go from there.  If I get a fix, I'll post it here also.

Thanks
Nash

[EDIT] See comments below. Downloaded the latest update for Alienware from the Dell website, uninstalled Alienware CC, used the update file to do a fresh install. All fixed.

Hey there So after fiddling around, I ended up fixing it. 1. Uninstall Alienware CC 2. Use the latest Alienware CC installation file downloaded from Dell Support to do a fresh install 3. Problem solved. For some reason, the latest version of Alienware CC wasn't updating my existing version. Also, the version downloaded from Windows Store was doing the same 'failed update'. When the Dell Support operator was trying to reinstall Alienware CC the one method that wasn't tried was uninstall, download from Dell site (latest version, I think it was 25 March) and do a fresh install. Thanks for your response. All fixed now (thank goodness). ANNND, as I had to reset my computer, I now have a new computer again. Win WIN!

Yes, I downloaded 5.2.29.0 from the Dell Support website.

However, it still keeps coming up and saying that Alienware CC has to download additional components.  If I click 'Install' in installs and then says it fails.

Personally, it's working at the moment, so I'm not installing any "additional Components".

If you would like to review the log file when it fails, please provide the best method to get the data to you.

Thanks

Nash
