17 R1, Bluetooth drivers (Headphones Stereo)

Hi guys,

I've been struggling to understand Bluetooth on my 2014 17 R1 for the past two months. I reinstalled windows and entered my service tag and downloaded an installed all the drivers but my Bluetooth headphone WH-10000MX4 would never connect in Stereo, only Hands Free. They did not show as a Stereo Bluetooth Headphones in [Playback Devices]. I have since reinstalled windows a couple of times and still the same, so I think it's a driver issue?

My question is does anyone know how the Bluetooth drivers work on an AW 17 R1? There seems to be a lot of Bluetooth drivers from different companies and I can't figure out which ones are needed and which control the Bluetooth Stereo Headphones behavior.

There's 31 drivers in total and the below seem to be related to Bluetooth

12 Intel 7260 Bluetooth driver
14 Broadcom Wireless BCM4352 Bluetooth Driver
15 Intel Wireless 7260 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Driver
18 Qualcomm Killer Wireless-N1202 BT Driver

I numbered them 1 - 31 in order or release for my install

If anyone can shine any light on this I'd be very appreciative as I'm going nuts trying to sort it!

Thanks

Nick

Hi GidaTheGoodWitch

Yes! Coincidentally I have jsut solved my moths of Bluetooth woes, I could use my Bluetooth WH-1000MX4 headphones with all other PCs, just not my AW R1 2014 after I reinstalled Windows.

The fault seems to be with the awful Broadcom BCM20702 Bluetooth 4.0 +HS USB Device.

My solution was to purchase a TP-Link Nano USB Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter (they're around £10) and problem solved.

All I did was disable the Broadcom device in Device Manager, then plug in the USB TP-Link Nano, I connected my headphones and they connected with Setero straight way and listed 'conected voive, music' as they did pre my Windows install.

I got really down trying to solve this, I spent a lot of money on these headphones and they worked on both Stereo and Hands Free Audio before I reinstalled Windows. I tried everything

Hence I am now very happy that it is solved.

I really hope this helps

Peace n love

Hello!

I am having a similar issue with ANY of my bluetooth speakers or headsets.  Have you had any luck finding a solution to this?  I'm so tired of not being able to use my headsets or speakers.

I don't have those headphones, though.  I have 3 different bluetooth audio devices 2 of the same brand and the 3rd a different brand - none of them have proper quality.  I've gone thru all the SupportAssist, Dell checks, Microsoft checks, anything that can be found.  All drivers are supposedly up to date.  Still a huge drop in quality once I did finally get them working.  I have also rolled back drivers, disabled devices, enables devices - nothing makes a difference in the audio quality and this is a recent change. Wasn't always like this.

Thanks a million!  I wish I knew what causes this to happen where the Bluetooth works and now doesn't causing us to have to get external adapters.

Definitely appreciate you getting back to this thread though!  I've been fighting this almost non-stop for a week and I have 12-hour shifts at work where I could be working thru my online courses and haven't been able to because I have no headphones to use for the lectures!  You're saving me!  Thanks again!
