Laptops purchased from Best Buy do not have full warranty?
I purchased 2 new Alienware laptops from Best Buy in February. When I checked the warrany they both expire this June and not a year as stated? When I called tech support they said that when you purchase from Best Buy the warranty starts from when Dell ships it to Best Buy and not when you buy it from Best Buy. Does anyone have any insight on this? The laptop stated it had a year warranty and I can no longer return it.

I was finally able to get a hold of someone at Dell who was able to take care of this. Frustrated with the run around I got but it was resolved and my warranty was updated.

You need to register the system to activate the warranty as of your purchase date:
https://www.dell.com/support/retail-registration/en-us/
That said, if the warranty expires in June 2022, the system was shipped in the first quarter of 2021 -- so it was either old stock when you purchased it, or an open box, etc. system. You'd need to contact Best Buy to find out.
