Area-51m R1, XMP, which RAM to be able to clock to 2933MHz?
Now that Area-51m R1 supports XMP ram and can clock to 2933MHz as per the updated spec book/BIOS, please can somebody help me in upgrading my RAM? My goal is to achieve 2933MHz with (2X16) GB ram sticks. I have tried both the HyperX Impact and the Crucial Ballistix kits (both rated at 3200mhz) but they still run at 2400MHz. Does anybody know if there is an option of enabling XMP profiles anywhere? I looked through the entire BIOS and could not find an option. If someone has purchased the ram sticks directly from Dell, it will be very helpful if you can post the image or the specs of the RAM so I can purchase similar ones. I've read in other forums that only Dell proprietary Ram will work but they do not have it in stock so I don't even have that option.
Has anyone else tried this? I can't be the only one I'm sure.

Hi
The subject already discussed. There is no chance to do it - RAM limitation.
Whatever RAM you buy - 2400 ONLY.
I was disappointed too.
Let force be with you.

There is no chance Mr Andrew either for XMP or for hardware upgrade for Area-51m R1. They even don't work on it. High time to buy a new one.
Pozdrawiam

Anyone tried this xmp? Found this ram in gearup website. I tried an adata xpg 3000mhz ram but still runs on 2400mhz on latest bios

Hi @BansalBurner welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
Please share an image of your Area-51m's XMP RAM option in the BIOS.
There has been, and there continues to be, speculation that only a small number of motherboard configurations released from the factory had this BIOS option enabled, when customer's order purchased Area-51m with XMP RAM hardware/capability. BIOS 1.9.3 release date 08 Apr 2020, Enhancements says Supports ADATA XMP modules. *OFFICIAL* Alienware Area-51M R1 Owner's Lounge | Page 2092 | NotebookReview
Please click on Kudos to say thank you for response from user that is not employed by Dell. Please share an update on progress, so that other users derive benefit from your experience. Thank you.

I don't thing so, I ordered especially with this options and bought 4 modules as 2 pairs of KINGSTON Hyper X Impact KHX 2666 C15 S4 / 16GB, modules run on my Dell G3 2667MHz and are quick however on Area 51M with i9 9900K and RTX2080 only 2400MHz, I fill as defrauded and I'm so disappointed, no answer from Dell.

Yall ever tried intel extreme tuning utility and manually set the speed? Cause my 15 R1 has 1866Mhz DDR3 in it and that isn't even a XMP certified laptop. Also whatever processor is in the computer can cause some issues too. Also just saying all 9th gen intel processors support 2666Mhz only I think and even if you do put higher frequency sticks it wont make a real difference.
