Hi @Amith Raj welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
From your description it seems that the files on the OS(C:) drive are not integrated. Please open This PC and right click to open the OS(C:) properties, go to the Tools tab and click on Scan drive Error Checking of OS(C:) to find and fix all the file system errors. Guess that there will be many file errors, so set aside your system on ac adapter power for about an hour.
I too have had my system a little over a year and mine does the same thing. It is barely usable. Interestingly, it started this after my warranty expired and Dell was quick to want to sell me another ridiculously priced warranty. I have updated every driver & Bios that there is.This has been the worst laptop I have ever owned considering the price. Just going to factory reset and try to sell it.
I hope you have better luck figuring your system out.
Please share an update to let users know if removal of all your files and factory reset returns the system to the original, as delivered performance. Thank you.
There is definitely an issue with this build. I too have the Area 51m R1 32GB RAM with i9 CPU but honestly it is the must frustrating and slowest machine I have even when compared with my HP 360 8GB i3 CPU (circa 2014/5) . For some reason the machine is often non response at startup even to CTRL + ALT + DEL to launch task manager which when I can open shows disk at 100%. The machine has already been back to Dell who told me it's fine and washed thier hand of it. This was supposed to be the best machine I have ever had, it's the worst any help much appreciated.

This has been my EXACT SAME experience. I bought Alienware Area 51m in 2019. Had it all of 2020 and been struggling with the same issue.... EXTREME slowness. I did a full system and Operating System reset two times. No change. I purchased the maximum RAM for my machine and installed it. No change. I made sure I deleted as much spyware and bloatware that I could, still not much of a change. Also, if you look at the task manager, DISK often shoots up to 100%. Part of me wonders if the hard drive not being a soild state drive is part of the problem. But I've used other laptops that have the old "spinning" type of HDD drives and none of them are this slow. This has been frustrating and I'm finally somewhat relieved to find out that I'm not the only one.

I have had the same problem with my Alienware Area51 laptop. I got the best warranty on it and it’s still under warranty but when I contact them to help they do there thing and the problem still persists. I am very dissatisfied with this and feel like I spent 4k on a laptop when my PS4 ran games and startup faster then this thing.. definitely won’t be getting a dell after this transaction.
Hi @Jayk.2 sorry to hear that the Area-51m R1 is having problems.
Please use the onboard Windows Reliability Monitor and wait for it to create timeline of events: How to use Windows Reliability Monitor to identify software issues | Dell US. This diagnostic application should reveal what problems are being encountered and their root cause. Please open the most recent (red) critical event and look for its Microsoft error code. You will have to search the internet to understand the Microsoft error code, and you might see similar problem and how it was fixed.
Please share an image of the event timeline and the most recent critical event(s), so that dell community users can also see this event(s) and offer solutions. Thank you.
