Area-51m R2, screen brightness stopped working

The brightness has been fine up until today, where it has now stopped working. The screen is on the lowest brightness. I have tried to adjust it by using FN + F10 and although the slider moves, it doesn't increase the brightness. I also tried to adjust it in the control panel, but that didn't work either.

Did anyone get a fix on this? I've been having the same issue all day.

Hi @Narc Survivor  welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

There are a number of potential fixes, and hopefully you will find the one that will be your solution. 

(1) Please download Malwarebytes to check for and remove any malware that might be on your drive. The free version comes with a fully functional 14 day Premium trial version. Click to enable all the protection options in RH box, so that a full scan is undertaken. 

(2) Go to Windows 10 screen settings, make sure Night is not enabled.

(3) Move the lid slowly back and forth, if screen brightness changes, the internal monitor cable is not fully engaged in its motherboard's socket and needs reseating. Please contact Dell Support for warranty assistance. 

(4) It is possible that the screen's backlight is not getting full power, has a loose connection, has a fault. Please contact Dell Support for warranty assistance.
