m15 R3, SA OS recovery from F12 is not working

Alienware m15 R3

Alienware m15 R3

Alienware m15 R3 SA (SupportAssist) OS recovery from boot menu F12 is not working. It keeps logging me onto Windows. And it is important for me to have a safe resort in my BIOS if something happened to my Windows and I couldn’t open Windows. I have uninstalled and reinstalled every thing. SA recovery. SA recovery plug in. I installed the BIOS itself again. I even erased the whole laptop through SA and reinstalled the Windows (Yes I could do that from Windows). And yes, BIOS SA assist recovery is enabled, but when I press enter it just logs me onto Windows. But as I said SA OS recovery from BIOS F12 is a key life saving option for me.

Hi @Ahmed Allawi welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

BIOS installation shall be undertaken by downloading BIOS installation file onto your Alienware m15 R3 drive, verify the checksum value and only then install the BIOS.

Alienware m15/m17 R3 System BIOS | Driver Details | Dell USMD5 & SHA Checksum Utility | Raymond's WordPress. The Free version of the MD5 & SHA Checksum Utility or similar is sufficient.

Are there any POST (Power On Self Test) diagnostic light code warnings, etc. that the BIOS installation is impaired?

Use the Recovery options instead. Open Settings, System, Recovery, Advanced startup.
