Hi @WillS1976 welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
If it is a hardware problem, at splash screen press and hold down F12 key, when boot menu appears, use up and down keys to select (ePSA) Diagnostics, then press Enter. You are probably not interested in running all the tests, so stop all tests and click on arrow icon in bottom RH corner of screen. When new window opens, look for Wi-Fi icon in LH column and run test. For warranty evidence of problem, you can save test results by clicking on that option.
If the Wi-Fi card is not detected, try reseating the card in its socket to ensure good electrical connection. Go to Support for Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 Removing the wireless card and Installing the wireless card for guidance.
If it is a Windows 10 Wi-Fi software problem, look in RH of screen taskbar for Wi-Fi icon, right click and run Troubleshoot problems. Remember to disconnect external Wi-Fi equipment to troubleshoot internal Wi-Fi equipment. It could be a driver problem, go to Device Manager to see if any of the icons have moved to the right, which indicates there is a problem to fix.
