Like the title say, I just can't install the AWCC? I tried all tutorials on forums and YouTube but nothing seems to put it to work. Anyone have any idea? I factory reset my pc, re-installed all the drivers everything working very well, but AWCC just don't install.
I succeeded to reinstall the Desktops 5.5.0.0 version!
When I launch the main install program I see the Alien logo and then the install program is stuck.
I went then to my temp folder (Right click Start button then Run and type %TEMP% then click OK). I found a temporary folder with a name like this {72B26E10-DB0C-48AB-A3B9-853234D7C7DB} Into this folder I found a subfolder named Update and into this subfolder a program named IMSilentUpdate
I launched this program and after a while the AWCC program was installed OK. After that, I installed the OC-Controls-Application and then the Fusion Service. I just needed to wait some time at first launch because it had to enable some services.
i have the same problem with my Alienware Area51m - R2, since the last Command Center update version 5.5.0.0, the installer try to start, and just fill a error log file with an error saying can't connect to a server
Hi @Felipe Palermo thank you for sharing update. Model = m15, Revision number = R6.
Support for Alienware m15 R6 says drivers are available for OS Windows 10, 64-bit and Windows 11.
Alienware Command Center (AWCC) v5.5.0.0 and OC Controls v1.3.68.1380 are currently available. Open local admin account and download these files, remember to unlock file properties and check their download checksum value. Then install AWCC file as admin, followed by Restart (not Shut Down). Then install OC Controls as admin, followed by Restart (not Shut Down). If you have peripheral devices, such as Alienware Mouse, External Monitor, etc., AWCC must have their drivers installed.
The Dell AWCC application should now work.

I can confirm the exact same problem is present with x17 R1. The installer of AWCC 5.5.0.0 fails to do anything, simply freezes.
The installer's error log says:
[Fri Jun 3 16:03:37 2022] --- End of Vendor Software Log ---
[Fri Jun 3 16:03:37 2022] Vendor Software Return Code: 1 [Fri Jun 3 16:03:37 2022] (FileUtility::DeleteDirectoryTree): *** RemoveDirectory() has reported failure. Hello, @BlackRose_777@crimsom , i have the exact same problem, when i open the AWCC it ask me if i want to add aditional components, when i say yes it looks like it is going to start to download but just sits there and it wont install. I also tried Support Assist and it failed to install, and i downloaded the software manually and tried to install it that way and i could not do it this way either.
I Have tried this on a number of Alienware Laptops (two M15 R2, one X15 R2) and in one desktop an Area 51 R5, and all faill to install it just sits there but it wont install.
The only thing i have not tried is to unistall the current AWCC because it is working without any problems in all my Laptops and PCs, and if i unistall with Revo i am afraid it will still not install or it wil not work right.
I am sure it must be the software because in all the machines i have the same error, i even tried it on a Dell Latitude 5420 that has the AWCC because i use an Alienware Mouse, and even in that machine i have the same problem that it simply just sits there and it wont install.
Any sugestions on how to solve it or should we wait for another update??
Hi @INXSEX thank you for sharing Dell application installation problems.
If the Dell AWCC application is working, you are prudent to not update it. It is weird that the Dell SupportAssist application does not install.
Guess there is no Dell warranty on any of these systems, and unable to create a Service Request, so that Dell knows that there is a problem to fix. These Dell applications are not stand alone and use the Windows operating system, whose Window Updates can result in an unexpected conflict. Rolling back to a time that these Dell applications worked should be considered, but this may cause other problems.
@INXSEX I tried uninstalling AWCC completely, and downloading the 5.5.0.0 package manually from Dell website. The installer was still freezing. I downloaded the previous 5.4 package and installation finished correctly. When AWCC prompts me about "downloading additional components", I just click skip until the problem is resolved.
