m15, fan noise, #3
I'm about to sell my Alienware m15 because the fan is so annoying. It's constantly spinning up and down. The only way to have any sanity is to set it to high performance, but then its really loud. I have another Laptop, a Dell Latitude 7490 which doesn't make a sound. I get that this one has a GPU, but man, the fan is HORRIBLE!! I cant even think!

Try opening up the computer backplate and check if the fans are obstructed by dust or bits of objects. @Fernando C.G. And @Gavin S.

Also use the program called speedfan and go to the configure settings and click the button that says advanced setting and check the box that says dell support.

Hi, can you help me too, please?
I have a similar problem with the same laptop model.
The system fan makes a rattling noise when it reaches 70% speed (according to the Alienware Command Center)
It's like something is obstructing the spin of the fan.
Thanks.
