m17 R2, can't get AWCC to honor custom fan settings

I have the exact same problem. Even if I set the fan curve to nearly 0% at any temp. It is ignored. It used to work relatively well (although the fan speed was always higher than my curve setting by about 10%) in the prior awcc 0H00M_WIN_5.2.75.0_A00. The current version I am using is HWJNT_WIN_5.2.89.0_A00 with a bios version of 1.7 doesn't work. Also in this awcc version using the latest oc controls version TMR1V_WIN64_1.2.74.1238_A00 the GPU temperature and power limit sliders are unresponsive in FUSION section. The unresponsive GPU control issue seems to be widely reported but does have a lengthy workaround procedure posted by a user.

@rockroland could you please provide a reference to the "lengthy workaround procedure"? How this setting works is a complete mistery - it somehow honors the setting, but the closer you make it to the bottom line (0) the more it ignores the setting. The only setting that works as expected is 100.. 

After playing around with the configuration I can confirm assumptions you guys have already probably made yourself: there is most likely some "safe" fan speed the driver silently defines for itself and AWCC does not allow to make fans work below this threshold. E.g. here is how fan speed and AWCC "offset" setting (the name probably gives a hint that it's not absolute value) correspond each other for a 40 C degrees CPU:

The "Smooth line" is also the same offset, if we make it "straight" like this:

And it follows the same rules. Someone may probably deduce dependency equation from this but overall it looks almost linear:

The "safe" threshold also depends on current temperature, so for CPU nearing 100 degrees 50% offset equals 87% fan speed for my laptop
