m17 R4, Windows 11, AWCC Fusion CPU tab missing

Hi

I just upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (it appeared automatically in windows update).

On Windows 10 I had a moderate Undervolting-Setting through Alienware Control Center applied. That significantly reduced noise and thermals.

No with Windows 11 that CPU tab is completely missing and I can only see the GPU, not even RAM.

Anyone an idea what that could be ?

Thanks in advance!

@cedrxs I had THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.

this is how i fixed it

Hit WIN+R and type "msinfo32" and check to see if "Virtualization based security" is enabled/running. if its running, then hit the magnifying glass on the start menu and type "turn windows features on or off" and in the list look for "virtual machine platform" and "windows hypervisor platform" and make sure they are unchecked and hit OK. also go to the magnifying glass in the start menu and type "core isolation" and make sure memory integrity is OFF. then restart your system.

these windows settings directly interfere with AWCC.

Were you able to resolve the issue? I am facing this same issue with my Alienware X17 R1. In windows 11 my CPU and Ram information has disappear. Overclocking is also not working. I have tried to uninstall and re-install Command Center but that didn't fix the issue.

Hi @cedrxs  the Dell AWCC Version 5.4.16.0 <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> application requires the OC Controls Version 1.3.60.1380 application to enable the AWCC’s Fusion tab. After Restart (not Shut Down) the installed AWCC application should prompt user to install the OC Controls application, followed by Restart. User can manually install the OC Controls application by visiting support for Alienware m17 R4, Drivers & Downloads

Before AWCC and OC Controls updates are installed, the old version must be fully removed using Revo Uninstaller Free to remove application, followed by Advanced Scan to remove all legacy files, followed by Restart (not Shut Down).

Yes that did it for me as well!

    Thank you so much!

But how can this feature of windows, which is actually one I need for my daily business, especially WSL, disable such crucial features of a performance optimized laptop ?

That sounds more like a bug that alienware/dell need to resolve rather quickly

Hi @RPT943  still learning about windows, and these features were previously unknown.

My Alienware 17 R5 laptop is stuck in dark mode and the AWCC FX tab fails to load. It has long been speculated that windows settings directly interfere with AWCC. A few years ago, Microsoft was given online remote access to laptop, but they did not find how to fix AWCC FX tab problem. Now went to look at a) "virtual machine platform", b) "windows hypervisor platform", and c) "core isolation" only to find that these settings were not enabled. So the mystery why all the factory installed LED lights are not acknowledged by AWCC continues to await a solution. Kind regards.

Thank you @RPT943  Virtualization based security was the issue.
I had to disable below windows features to make CC work...

    Containers
    Guarded Host
    Hyper-V and all sub-components
    Virtual Machine Platform
    Windows Hypervisor Platform
    Windows Sandbox
    Windows Subsystem for Linux
