Avamar Activity Monitor (delete entries)
Hi there,
I'm testing a single node Avamar 6.1 appliance, I'm testing all features and capability, So I'd like to know if it's possible the way to delete entries from activity monitor like tasks failures, cancelled, etc etc without waiting 72h.
It's possible perform this action?
Best regards.

Hello Igarcia,
AFAFIK no but using "mccli activity show" you can do a filtering on your activity .... or just configure activity monitor to show Avamar serer activities for last 24/48 hours .
<< snip >>
mccli activity show --help
activity show: Show activity
[--active=Boolean(false)]: Show active jobs
[--completed=Boolean(false)]: Show completed jobs
[--contained-vm-activities=Boolean(false)]: Display contained VM's activities for a VM container client. Used if the client specified is a VM container.
[--domain=String]: Client's domain
[--id=String]: Activity ID. Multiple --id usage is allowed.
[--name=String]: Client's name
[--queued=Boolean(false)]: Show queued jobs
[--source=String]: Storage location ( Avamar | DD )
[--verbose=Boolean(false)]: Show verbose details
hope this helps ..

Hi Rej,
I know these options but I wanted delete entries not filter them.
Best regards.

Hi Ivan,
there are actually possibilities to alter Postgre SQL DB and "activities" table .... but such tasks I will not suggest here .
Please open SR with EMC support and L2 team will decide how to proceed ...
thanks, regards,
Rej

Hi Rej,
That is the information I'm searching, I had supposed It's necessary alter table in PostgreSQL but for now I'm going to wait 72h. I thought it was more easy, executing a command for example.
So thanks very much for your help.
Ivan.-

If this feature is important to you, I would recommend submitting a request for enhancement by following the process documented in the KB article below:
https://support.emc.com/kb/93987
Please do not alter Avamar's internal databases in any way. There is a lot that can go wrong.

You can restart MCS and all activity entries will be removed. Perhaps this can be called a feature in your use case?

I know where you are coming from - my old software allowed me to do that.
Like when testing.
because in Avamar you cannot delete your testing your reports for failure count are wrong. and it mess up your average.
