Avamar 6.1 does not support SQL 2000. The last version of the client that supported SQL 2000 was Avamar 4.1.
Please work with your EMC account team to file a request for product qualification (RPQ) to qualify the Avamar 4.1 client for use in your environment. Note that support for Avamar 4.1 will be ending soon so it will be important to put a migration strategy in place if you wish to continue backing up this data with Avamar.
