Avamar Virtual Appliance
Hello,
I would like to get a trial of Amavar Virtual Eddition, but sales didnt contat me when I reqested. Forum points me to en empty ftp site, or to the download portal where all the files are locked. If it was not my boss who asked me to test it - I would give up already...
Could someone point me - where I can download the Virtual Eddition to put in the lab and test how it suits out needs?

Sorry to bring this up again, but...
My boss asked me to test Avamar again, previous testing was canceled due release of new version of Avamar version 7, is there any place I could get a trial for Virtual Edition for version 7? I was told that it would be possible after New Year.

talk to your EMC account team, they can give you link to the appliance which will run for 30 days without a license.

I am not EMC account yet. Just seeking the possibilities to implement the solution (about a year from my last post lol) …
Previously, trial Version 6.1 of AVE was provided by someone from this forum... -)

Hi,
I think if you realy like to test the Avamar it would be a good idea to do something like a proof of concept installation with EMC or an EMC partner. So you have a specialist who is doing the installation and more important the correct configuration of the AVE. And you altough have a contact person for questions or issues.

If you'd like to get creative, you can consider VDP (vSphere Data Protection) to test Avamar. VDP leverages Avamar heavily and would be a good way to test virtual backups. You can download it as an .ova from VMware.
