Desktop/Laptop Backups

Question

We are looking at starting to backup desktops and laptops in our environment.  We are currently running Avamar v6.0.1.66, does anyone know where I can get some good documentation on how to set this up?  I was able to get the client installed on a desktop and inititate a backup, but am unable to initiate a backup where I can pick and choose which files I want to backup and unable to initiate a restore from the client. Just starting out on this so I am sure there is lots I am missing, but have been unable to located good documentation on how this needs to be set up. Any help is appreciated.
