GLR is meant only for restore and not for backup so its normal it’s grayed out in backup view. Please run complete backup of information store with new client version and then look for GLR in restore.
Whats the error that you get when browsing GLR in retstore? Please do refer to limitations section of Exchange VSS Guide on powerlink for more info on GLR. Also ensure backup agent service and EMC Avamar Exchange GLR service are running under avamarbackupuser account which needs to added to “Organization Management “ role in AD manually.
It seems it cant create RDB. Please remove any existing RDB from exchange console whenever you are attempting GLR in avamar console and ensure both backup agent service and EMC Avamar GLR service are running under avamarbackupuser? Also request you to post more error messages in the two logs I mentioned earlier for that particular date/time? Are there any errors pertaining to distinguished name? Any errors related to powershell?
If there is an error related to distinguished name, you need to add a flag to fix that error. And lastly , the flag for CAS is only applicable if mailbox role and CAS roles are on different machines.

hi,
im upgrade exchange and vss client now
but not backing up with new client. is this necessarily to take a new backup with new version client?
i try to restore with old backups still same error
when i try to backing up GLR looking disable is this normal ?

client mounting new drive and copy edb and logs in this drive..after then its failed
i also found your other post about avexchglr.cmd, when i created avexchglr.cmd (and write cas server fqdn in this file)

Did you add only one cas flag in that cmd file? As mentioned in my previous comments, always look for any leftover RDB before attempting GLR again.

Stop GLR service on exchange to get rid of virtual drive created by avamar and re-try GLR and review avexglr_plugin.log and avmapi.log

There are two hyphens in the beginning and you can specify ONLY one of the cas servers and not TWO.

when i create avexchglr.cmd dont show any pop-up (like ..browsing ...in progress..)
dont assing a hard drive, and no RDB on exchange
and show empty result. :/
