Can you please check application events on windows server related to exchange for any error ?
The error message which you have posted here is a known issue and there is a fix for it, but to make it sure I would like to see error logs from application events related to exchange.
Are you able to find logs with source MSExchangeRepl or ExchangeStoreDB or something related to Exchange ?
Logs attached is from source - VSS
I can see one KB article for exchange which is restricted for EMC internal use, the VSS error is similar to your error message. I am looking for exchange application error logs to make sure this KB article can be used to resolve your issue.
Since this KB article is restricted, I can not post it here. There is a hotfix under this KB to fix the issue and you will need to contact to EMC support to get this hotfix.
