Hey,

Yes, you can change these values. But there are file cache and hash cache rules you need to comply. For detailed contents for tuning cache, please refer to CHAPTER 7 Tuning Performance of Avamar 6.1 Operational Best Practices on page 53.

Example:

Edit avtar.cmd file under /usr/local/avamar/var, if not exist, create an avtar.cmd file. Then add two lines as following:

--filecachemax= -32

--hashcachemax= -16

Save and restart avamar client av

The mean is set one of the caches to be -16 (6%), and set the other cache to be -32 (3%). But, limit the total cache sizes to approximately one-fourth of the physical RAM.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

To change to size of p_cache and f_cache, Go to

  • GUI ->Tools -> Data Set -> Options tab. Then select the plug-in and check the Show Advanced option check box and scroll down to the "Client Cache Options" section.
This will effect any client using this dataset.
So it would be better to create new dataset to use with only that one client.

Pawan
