VM Image Client

Question

Trying to install the client for vmware image file level restores and in the documentation it says to use a server 2003 sp2 machine that is 32 bit.  I have that VM carved out according to the specs.  I installed .net 2.0 and the VIX software.  Then I installed the VM Image Backup software and it installed successfully.  After that the client is supposed to run and I am supposed to activate it.  The issue is that the client will not run.  The error is: 'The image file C:\Program Files\avs\bin\avscc.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine.' Has anyone ran into this, or know if this requires a 64bit os as opposed to a 32bit like the documentation says?  This is Avamar 6.0.101.65.

Hi Jason,

Make sure you logged in with administrative privileges, if not,run the following from the Windows command line:

C:\Program Files\avs\bin>avscc.exe --runnonprivileged

Make sure you have selected Single CPU, run "SET Processor" from the command prompt.

Try re-installing the VMimage software.

Known bug with 6.0 SP1. Install 6.0.101.66 which 6.0 SP1 refresh to fix this issue.
