VMware Image - FLR not working (can't browse)
Hi,
I'm having trouble doing an FLR from a VMware Image backup, both via the mccli and Avamar UI). When we try and browse the backup we just see a few config files and .vmdk files we don't see the c:/ drive so can't pick the files to do an FLR.
We are using v7.1.2-21
Has anyone seen this before?

you don't say what kind of server the client is.
FLR does not work on all VM's (does not work on some of my Linux servers)
Which is why my last step in adding a vm to Avamar is to come back after the first backup
And VERIFY I can Browse the backup for FLR.
if not - install avamar on it and back it up like a physical.

Hi mkell,
Would these logs not only be able to help if I had started an FLR restore? I can't even browser the files to do a restore so would there be anything in the logs for that?

HI J.H.,
The machine the screebshoe is from 's Windows 2012 R2 Std but I have seen this with a few different VMs that i've tried. I didn't release that FLR wasn't available on all Windows and Linux flavours.

Hi,
I'm using NW with VBA.
And if a FLR cannot be done the logs will show why, for example wrong partition format or something else.

different versions list some different limitations
these are the 7.1 listed in Avamar VM manual
