Windows 2012 R2 support
Given Windows 2012 R2 (and Hyper-V 2012 R2) is only a few days from official release. Is there an ETA for Avamar support for it? I was hoping that the release notes for 7.0.0-427 (11th October) would have had some info.

Hey,
There are no any document said officially support Windows Server 2012 R2 and Hyper-V 2012 R2 yet. Even latest Avamar Compatibility and Interoperability Matrix and EMC Avamar 7.0 Release Notes for 7.0.0-427 (11th October). But I think Avamar 7 will supports Windows Server 2012 R2 and Hyper-V 2012 R2 due to Avamar 7.0 support Windows Server 2012 and Hyper-V 2012. So, let us wait patiently for the official announcement.

Since Windows Server 2012 R2 was just released and Avamar 7.0 was developed before the release of Windows Server 2012 R2, it is reasonable that Windows Server 2012 R2 is not supported by Avamar 7.0 now. EMC needs some time to add the Windows Server 2012 R2 support feature to Avamar. I believe the next version of Avamar (may be Avamar 7.1) will support Windows Server 2012 R2. Let’s wait and see.
