administrator console can't connect to AVE
Hello
I just installed an AVE (7.0) with 2 NICs (RPQ will be done asap)
-eth0 for backups
- eth1 for management
Standard installation with eth0 configured for backups
- DNS entry : 172.55.55.6 / ave_backup@emc.lu
In mcserver.xml : hfsaddr="ave_backup@emc.lu", local_hfsaddr="ave_backup" , rmi_addr=""
After the avamar installation Eth1 has been manually configured (/etc/hosts, ifcfg-eth1, resolv.conf, with IP=100.65.17.200)
DNS entry : 100.65.17.200 / ave_management@vcloud
administrator console can not connect to the AVE via the management lan (eth1 - 100.65.17.200) !!!
(it works if we update the "hosts" file on the desktop hosting the administrator console with the following info:
100.65.17.200 ave_backup@emc.lu ( associating the IP address of eth1 with "dns name" of eth0 in local hosts file)
I tried to modify the rmi_address in mcserver.xml file and add the ip address of the management interface (eth1) but mcs did not restart
following error looged
ERROR: Exception connecting to mcs server: 100.65.17.200 at port: 7778, cause: java.rmi.NotBoundException: //100.65.17.200:7778/ASNNODE
Any suggestion ??

You should use nodedb to edit probe.xml.

The error says that MCS is not bound to the IP 100.65.17.200. Is there a "management" entry in probe.xml for this IP?

no - no management entry in probe.xml
no problems to edit probe.xml manually ??

nodedb add if performed (nodedb add if --addr=100.65.17.200 --nwgr=1)
probe.xml modified ( ) -

Is the MCS listening on port 7778? Check the output of netstat -anp.
